Azeezah Kanji

Azeezah Kanji is a legal researcher and writer based in Toronto. She received her Juris Doctor from University of Toronto’s Faculty of Law, and Masters of Law specializing in Islamic law from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. Azeezah is a columnist at the Toronto Star, focusing on issues of race, law, and national security; her writing has also appeared in the Ottawa Citizen, National Post, rabble, OpenDemocracy, iPolitics, Roar Magazine, and academic anthologies and journals. She serves as Director of Programming at Toronto’s Noor Cultural Centre.
