Born and raised in London, England, Rohina Malik had always shown great ineterst and passion in the art of theatre and drama. At just the age of 15, she moved to Chicago and attended Niles North High School where she was an active participator in writing and performing in thearatical plays. Her career in playwriting had started in 2008 when she took a class on writing a one person play. During the same class, she started writing her famous play Unveiled. She was offered at the end of the class to perform a sample of her play in the Fillet of Solo Festival at Live Bait Theater in July 2008.

The next year, “Unveiled” had its world premiere at the The 16th Street Theater, directed by Ann Filmer. Rohina is a resident playwright at Chicago Dramatists, and an artistic associate at the 16th Street Theater and a company member at Voyage Theater Company in NYC. Rohina’s play “The Mecca Tales” was nominated for a Jeff Award for Best New Work and she was awarded the Y Award with the Evanston YWCA for her work to end racism and empower women. Rohina has been commissioned by The Hypocrites Theater to write a new play.  She is a proud member of the Dramatists Guild of America.
