Yusuf Zine

IMG_6853Yusuf Zine’s passion for the arts started when he was a child, spending endless hours watching movies and sketch comedy and re-enacting them whenever he had a chance. From then on, Yusuf spent most of his years taking acting classes, joining drama clubs and doing theatre productions to improve his skill as an actor. Yusuf joined a talent agency in 2008, and moved to the professional world of acting. He made an appearance in two national commercials, and a character spot on the Disney Channel show, “Overruled!” In 2009, Yusuf left his high school to attend a speciality arts school for drama and musical theatre. Since then, his passion for the stage has grown and he has done many plays and productions such as Macbeth, RENT, Lysistrata, and Welcome To Thebes. Yusuf has had the privilege to work with top Canadian actors and directors over the years which have contributed to his overall experience as a performer. Yusuf is now doing his undergrad at Wilfrid Laurier University in Global Studies, while still studying drama at the University of Waterloo. In 2012, he co-created an independent film production company called Beyond Infinity Films. Their YouTube channel, REC Room, strives to provide diverse content for all different types of audiences. Yusuf has recently created a web series called Fame and Fidelity, in which he writes, directs and stars in. The show follows the life of a young Arab-Muslim actor and his struggle to be a famous Hollywood actor, but also to stay true to his morals and his religion. Fame and Fidelity will air this September 2013 on REC Room.
