MuslimFest 2017 is starting for the very first time on August 4th for a 3 day long festival!

Quran Recitation by Qari Saad Nomani
6:45 pm - 7:00 pm

Qari Saad Nomani is a reciter of the Quran who is known for his imitations of various reciters of the world. Nomani has the ability to imitate more than 83 qaris and imams including the imams of the two Holy Mosques of the Muslim world in Makkah and Madinah.

Join us to honour Canada with a 150 child choir to sing the National Anthem.

In celebration of Canada 150 the MuslimFest team encourages your attendance at the grand opening of the Canada 150 themed art exhibit near the main stage.

Quran Recitation - Bilal Gulmez
8:15 pm - 8:30 pm

Bilal Gülmez born in 1974, in beautiful Sakarya, Turkey. He was attended religious high school and has completed his theology degree at Anadolu University in Turkey. Consequently travelled to Egypt to study Arabic and qiraat linguistics. Followed by 16 years of imam and special service under the president of the Republic of Turkey, prof.dr. Necmettin Erbakan. Currently, he is serving the ICGM Anatolia Islamic centre North York as Imam and leading religious figure.

Quran Recitation - Daood Butt
8:30 pm - 8:45 pm

Sheikh Daood Butt was born and raised in Montreal, Canada and has always had a desire to learn and teach Islam.During this time, he studied with local Imams and was hired as an Imam and Qur'an instructor at a local mosque. He went on to study at the Islamic University of Madinah for seven years, during which he completed a Diploma in Arabic Language followed by a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theology and Islamic Da'wah from the Faculty of Da'wah and Usool Ad-Deen in 2010.

Maghrib Prayer

Maghrib Athan and congregation will commence before sunset by 8:45.

9:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Mawlana Ashraf ‘Ali Thanawi, referred to by many South Asian Muslims as Hakim al-Umma (“Spiritual Physician of the Muslim Umma”) and Mujaddid al-Milla (“Reformer of the Nation”), is a towering figure of Islamic revival and reawakening of South Asia in the twentieth century. Mawlana Thanawi was the “most eminent religious figure of his time, a prolific author, and believed to be the greatest Sufi of modern India.”

Quran Recitation - Saad Nomani
9:30 pm - 10:00 pm

We will bring an end to Friday's event with another beautiful recitation by the highly respectable Qari Saad Nomani.

Asr Adhan and Prayer
6:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Prior to the start of the event the athan which is the Muslim call to player will be called so everyone can join in congregation to pray the Asr prayer.
